Urquhart Opticians have been named as a finalist in the Opticians of the Year category, recognising the group’s commitment to innovations in customer and patient care. The team will now join the cream of independent retailers at the national award ceremony in Glasgow next month.
The shortlist announcement is the latest accolade for the Kilmarnock-based group which has been providing eyecare to the people of Ayrshire for over a century. In 2016, Urquhart Opticians was named Outstanding Business of the Year at the Ayrshire Business Awards, and since then the company has continued to make significant investments and innovations including the completion of a major remodelling and renovation programme, their expansion to larger premises in Troon and the introduction of new eyewear collections from some of the world’s most exciting designers. Ground-breaking eye test technology has also been introduced, and Urquhart Opticians have partnered with market leaders to introduce new hearing and visual aids services. They are also active members of local business associations, supporting town centre initiatives whenever possible.

Urquhart Opticians is based in Portland Road, Kilmarnock with further practices in Troon, Prestwick and Glasgow. The Scottish Independent Retail Awards are now in their 7th year and will take place in Glasgow on 17th April 2018.
