Why did you get into Optics?
I was looking for a change and seen an advert for an Optical Assistant in the local newspaper and thought it sounded like an interesting job – it didn’t disappoint!
How long have you been with Urquhart Opticians and what do you enjoy most about your job?
I have been with Urquharts for over 2 years, since they took on the practice in Arran Mall. I have work in Optics for about 18 years, and I also work in our Lab in Ayr glazing spectacles.
What is your favourite brand of eyewear and why?
I’m currently favouring Carolina Herrera, they have so many nice colours and shapes in the collection. I can’t wait for my new Carolina Herrera glasses to arrive.
What is your most memorable patient experience?
I don’t think I can pick just one, I have met so many lovely patients over the years. Working with people is the best part of my job.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I adore spending time with my family and my grandchildren.
Where is your favourite holiday destination?
I love the Canary Islands but anywhere warm and sunny!
What is your favourite movie?
I enjoy action and martial arts movies.
One interesting fact about yourself?
Although I’ve stopped now, I participated in Martial Arts for many years.
