Alistair Duff and Peter Telfer took over Urquharts in 2015, with an aim to nurture the business’ growth and the development of the team. Alistair studied Optometry straight from school and had worked in both independent and multinational practices, before making the decision to become joint owner of Urquharts with his business partner Peter. Peter has a Business and Marketing degree and has worked for international companies and as part of Entrepreneurial Scotland.

Alistair is Clinical Director at Urquharts and ensures that we can provide the very best clinical care available to our patients. He does extensive work with Optometry Scotland and is Chair of the Area Optical Professional Committee.

Peter is our Managing Director and is responsible for team and services development. He is passionate about the Ayrshire business community, chairs the Kilmarnock Business Association and sits on the Board of the Ayrshire Chamber.
