As an Independent Opticians we are proud to be an active part of all our communities across Ayrshire, in North, South & East, as well as further afield. It’s important to us to be involved and support the community in any way we can. The majority of our team live in Ayrshire so it’s our community too, and we know working together means achieving more and helping more people
For the past 2 years we have been delighted to be the main sponsor of the Ayrshire Hospice Ladies Lunch, held at Trump Turnberry. The Ayrshire Hospice has a Ladies Lunch every year in March to raise funds and highlight the amazing work they do. Without the support of the community, the Ayrshire Hospice wouldn’t be able to maintain the highest level of care for people when they need it the most. This is a cause close to many people’s hearts and we are proud to be able to support them. It’s a fabulous day with great food, wonderful entertainment and last year £10,000 was raised!
We also sponsored the Ayrshire Magazine’s Ayrshire Does Strictly event, in support of the Kilmarnock Community Sports Trust. The KCST provides sports and activities to children across Ayrshire, so we were thrilled to help raised funds for them, on what was a fantastic night. Over £11,000 was donated on the night and there were lots of familiar Ayrshire faces who put on their dancing shoes and really gave it their all. We love supporting the Ayrshire Magazine, which is dedicated to highlighting all the great things happening in Ayrshire.
We have partnered with Kilmarnock Football Club to provide 15% discount on frames and lenses for season ticket holders. As a local business, we are delighted to support a local team, and promote eyecare and hearing care to the fans. We also look after the player eyecare to make sure they never take their eyes off the ball!
Our Optometrists take the opportunity to go out and talk to the community whenever they can. We participate in school talks about the importance to regular eye examinations and why your vision is crucial. Optometrist Fiona and Linda have recently been to their local primary schools to talk to the pupils there, and Peter has returned to former school Auchinleck Academy to give a talk on business and what career opportunities there are in this area.
Alistair also regularly visits local Rotary clubs to talk about eye health, from cataracts to your vision and driving. It’s great to be out in the community meeting people and being able to provide some advice and information on eyecare.
