At Urquharts it’s very important for us to be part of our community and find ways to give back. In the backdrop of COVID-19 when we weren't able to attend events & give sponsorship, our Optometrist weren't be able to go to schools, community groups or guilds to do talks – and so we’ve been looking for new ways to support people in Ayrshire. That’s why we’ve created the Urquharts ‘Care & Community’ fund, based on one of our key values. 6 times in the year we’ll have up to £1000 available for local groups and charities, focusing on a different category each time. Please see details and how to apply below.

Our Care & Community Fund is closed. For any enquiries, please email Kiera at communityfund@urquhart-opticians.co.uk - We look forward to reopening applications soon.

Ayrshire Tigers Powerchair Football Club was founded in 2015 in response to there being limited opportunities for disabled powerchair users in Ayrshire to engage in sport. There mission is to help improve the lives of all disabled powerchair users and reduce social isolation. We were delighted to support the club through the fund with a cheque donation of £750, helping them continue their fantastic work within the local community.

Last December we finished the year by taken part in the Glasgow Spirit of Christmas initiative, by donating gifts for children through North Ayrshire Food Bank, Women's Aid East Ayrshire and Barnardo's South Ayrshire. It was wonderful to be able to help provide extra comfort and joy to families during the season.
