We believe in doing things differently, so we love having the opportunity to showcase our collections in a new and exciting way. Throughout the year we have brand events where we have a complete collection on display at one of our practices, with drinks and nibbles available and even a special discount on the day. It’s a fantastic chance to experience every frame and sunglass in a collection, there’s no other way to see each piece in person.
The iconic Austrian brand brought its entire collection to our Kilmarnock practice in March 2019. We had every rimless, metal and plastic frame they have created on display in every colour. This was a fantastic opportunity and we had Silhouette fans from all parts of Ayrshire come along to pick their new spectacles. Silhouette even brought the complete gold plated collection, perfect for people looking for something extra special. We also had the Sun collection on display, which featured superlight sunglasses in lots of shapes with fun mirror tints. These are available with prescription as well. Joining us on the day were brand specialist Graham and lens expert Kerry to provide their invaluable advice. It was a great day with authentic Austrian food and drink, as well as Silhouette goodie bags for everyone who attended.
In 2018 we had British brand William Morris come to our Kilmarnock practice to showcase their collections, including their premium William Morris Black Label and exclusive William Morris Gold Label. The entire collection filled every corner of our practice, with over 400 pieces on display. William Morris’s classic collection is full of quirky shapes and fun colour combinations, while the Black Label is smart and sophisticated so there was something for everyone. We had representative Gareth from William Morris there who travelled all the way from London to support our event. This is one of our most popular brands and we hope to hold another event in the future with their new season ranges.
Last summer we had sports performance brand Oakley come to our Prestwick practice and display their full optical collection and their massive sunglasses collection. This was the perfect event for any sports person in needs of new sunglasses as Oakley is the number one choice for sports eyewear. Our team had extra training in Oakley’s lenses and Prizm technology so we could give expert advice on which lens people needed for their specific sport. We had fun demonstrations on the day, showing how strong and flexible Oakley frames and lenses are, as well as a Corona and lime for everyone! It was amazing to see this whole fun, colourful collection in person.
The ultra exclusive Austrian brand brought their complete handmade collection to our Troon practice in September. As we are the only stockist of Andy Wolf in Ayrshire and one of only a few in Scotland, this was an incredible chance to see every handmade piece in the collection. This included their funky sunglasses, and new season frames which were just out. We had prosecco and nibbles on the day, and our Optometrist Fiona was on hand to offer eye examinations before a purchase if needed. Ashley from the brand came along to help people choose the perfect Any Wolf frame for them, with cool oversized plastics and fine, intricate metals all on display. It was an opportunity not to be missed!
