Inhouse Spectacle Glazing

Our Ayr & Kilmarnock practices each have an inhouse glazing Lab. Our Lab Manager Ian has been with us for 30 years and at Ayr, Margaret glazes spectacles as well helping patients pick their frames and running the clinic day to day.

Having our own Lab facilities means that we have the ability to glaze frames onsite the very same day. Very few other Opticians can offer this service, so if you want to put new lenses into a frame you already have then we can do this and you don't have to be without your glasses for any length of time.

For more specialised lenses like varifocal, we order the lenses from our suppliers and then they are sent to our Labs to be glazed by us. This also means that all of our clients spectacles are hand finished by Ian and Margaret. We can control the quality, ensure the job is to our clients satisfaction and to the high standards that we expect here at Urquhart Opticians.
