Why did you get into Optics?

A change of career lead me to looking for a new challenge where my skills could be utilised and
expanded.

Where did you study? / What qualifications do you have?

ILM Leadership & Coaching, Standard British Sign Language & various in-house Management, Risk, Training and Leadership courses.

How long have you been with Urquhart Opticians and what do you enjoy most about your job?

I've been at Urquharts for 3 months. No 2 days are the same and I love being able to help people with either repairs, queries or choosing new glasses.

What is your favourite brand of eyewear and why?

FaceaFace – Bright bold colours and distinctive legs.

What is your most memorable patient experience?

Helping a patient choose glasses and when they collect their new glasses once the correct lenses
were fitted, the impact this would have on their everyday lives.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Eating out and socialising, ( Spin classes to compensate for the eating) Holidays, Concerts and
Theatre.

Where is your favourite holiday destination?

Florida, New York and Skye

What is your favourite movie or book?

Grease – I seen it numerous times when you could go to the movies at 11am and not come out till
7pm as movies played on loop.

Best piece of advice you have ever been give?

A problem is your chance to do your best as a problem is an issue looking for a solution.

I always have cold feet except when I have been drinking Southern Comfort!
